New work also behind the scenes – Pilot project in Berlin with intertempi

The property managers at IC Immobilien Gruppe help to ensure that their tenants are able to successfully transfer new work strategies from the concept phase and put them into practice in the office. In our own team we are also consistently developing hybrid approaches. In intertempi GmbH and its CEO Dr. Florian Mann we have now found a cooperation partner with whose help collaboration between employees and the transparency of office availability are being further improved. To this end a joint pilot project is to be launched in Berlin in the near future.

There are two key challenges with hybrid and decentralised working methods. Firstly: which colleagues are in the office on which days – and which rooms are they using? Secondly: how can space be used as efficiently as possible with hybrid working methods?

The Berlin-based proptech company intertempi was created to provide answers to these very questions. Using its SaaS platform companies can display all the areas they utilise in a digital form – from office spaces to individual car parking spaces. The employees can then book these as they wish.

After logging in users can see immediately which areas are free across all departments and whether colleagues from a specific project team will be in the office the following day or will be mobile working. Quiet zone work areas and meeting rooms, as well as resources for meetings with clients, can be booked in a flexible manner using the platform. Thus it offers an important decision-making aid when dealing with the question of whether to work at home or in the office tomorrow.

At the same time the intertempi platform can increase the intensity of space usage. Desks which are only used on two out of five working days then become a thing of the past. This can also create added value in the field of ESG: the more intensively space is used, the more energy-efficient its operation as a ratio of the number of working hours – meaning that “empty” rooms are not being heated or illuminated.

IC Immobilien Gruppe intends to launch a pilot project in its Berlin branch. The colleagues there can then either plan their hybrid working days using the classical calendar view or an interactive room plan. An additional objective is that of further enhancing the collaboration across departmental boundaries by allowing project teams to establish their own configurations in a flexible manner. The important aspect with this pilot project is that the employees are able to make their wishes and requirements known so that the use of the platform can be improved. At intertempi Florian Mann is continuously working with his team on the further development of the platform’s features. Here the particular focus is on the cooperation between employees and on the topic of automation.
